Biographies
Take a moment and meet the band...
Background:
The driving force behind Clik, Tom is a seasoned percussionist, fluent in multiple styles of music.
Combining his vast knowledge of (and gear lust for) high-end audio production, stage-lighting, and
midi equipment, Tom assures that Clik is dialed-in "just right" everytime, providing for optimum
sound quality and volume levels at any venue.
Musical influences:
Played Jazz and Big Band styles in the late 70's and eventually transitioned to New Wave / Punk in
the early 80's. Drummer for Grand Rapids based, Gina and the Modern Men, playing "high energy"
originals at venues like "The White Rabbit", and similar, "West Side" dives. In the mid 80's
became a popular, Private Event DJ, boasting premium sound and lights, successfully for nearly
15 years.
Combining his past experience and capital investment, with several top musicians from the Lake
Shore area, the Band, "clik" performs proven crowd pleasers, with a tour grade sound.
Tom "Bullet" Kies
Vocals
Background:
Tom "Bullet" Kies is the "real deal", and the newest member of Clik, holding down the
vocal front since Spring, 2010. Bullet has been performing in West Michigan venues for nearly
30 years, and has been showing the boys in the band just how hard West Michigan likes to rock. Sit
back, let Clik turn it up, and Bullet will take you through tunes by AC/DC, Head East, Bob Seger, Bad
Company, and more.
Background:
Verle joined Clik in the Spring of 2008, and brings his personal version of "if it's too loud,
you're too old" to Clik. His rock and blues sensibilities have brought a harder edge to Clik's
repetoire, resulting in audience requests to "...play more of that bluesy sh*t..." Always glad
to oblige, Clik has added numerous new song selections by Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Clapton, the
Fab T-birds, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and the Rolling Stones, along with other Classic Rock favorites.
Background:
Terry is a talented multi-instrumentalist and vocalist. He handles both the bass guitar duties, and
lead and background vocal harmonies for Clik. As the self-proclaimed "eye-candy" for Clik's audiences,
Terry shows that there is still a place in Rock and Roll for balding, middle-aged men, and he's willing
to perform any song request at any time, (if said request is accompanied by a complimentary shot of
Jameson's).
Background:
Graduated from Grand Valley State College with a degree in Music Education.
Church organist/choir director since 1978 in various West Michigan churches.
Played keyboards in many bands, most notably, The Gordon Thayer Band (Justin Tyme)
Musical influences:
Any prog rock band, Genesis and Yes, Rolling Stones, Robert Fripp and Brian Eno
Musical dislikes:
Any boy band, Britney-Ashlee-Christina, gangsta rap, muzak
Tom B
"Sound Guy"
Background:
"Sound Guy" Tom is the silent member of Clik, but has perhaps the greatest impact on Clik's
nightly sound. As the only member of Clik that "hates it wet", Tom insures that all Clik instruments
and vocals are properly mixed to faithfully recreate our Classic Rock favorites. Say "Hi" to Tom when
you see him behind the mixing board.
